Description
Hillsides on the eastern side of the city of La Paz, Bolivia emerge as the clouds clear early in the morning after overnight snowfalls. The high rise buildings are in the city's central Miraflores district, behind them the Villa Fatima and Chuquiaguillo districts, the valley behind them is the main route out of the eastern side of the city to a high pass over the Andes Mountains. Few cities enjoy as spectacular setting as La Paz (Bolivia's administrative capital); the city centre is at an altitude around 3650m / 11,975 ft in a huge valley below the Andes Mountains. It's higher suburbs and sister city of El Alto are over 4000m / 13,125ft high, the lowest suburbs are nearly 1000m / 3,300ft lower down!
